Cecília Carvalhal is a Brazilian filmmaker and Assistant Director with over thirteen years of professional experience in film and television production. Her credits include major productions for Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, HBO, and Universal Pictures, spanning feature films, television series, and non-fiction formats across Brazil and internationally.

As a 1st and 2nd Assistant Director, Cecília has worked across the full production pipeline — from script breakdown and scheduling through principal photography — bringing clarity of intention and precision to every stage of production. She is known for her ability to hold the logistical complexity of a shoot while keeping the director's creative vision at the center of every decision.

Her work includes acclaimed projects recognized on the international stage: Nise: The Heart of Madness (Grand Prix, Tokyo International Film Festival), Manhãs de Setembro / September Mornings (Best Fiction Series, Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro), and Macabro (Audience Award, Brooklyn Film Festival), among others. She has also contributed to international co-productions including Trash (Universal Pictures / Working Title, dir. Stephen Daldry).

Currently based in Maine, Cecília is completing a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Maine and is in production on her debut feature documentary, The Lobsterman.
